This is pure speculation if you ask me, but I felt the need to post it and put it out there in case there was an ounce of truth to it.
We have all heard that Gerard has a mystery project in the works. Well Fearnet.com is stating the new comic project is a comic adaptation of the rock opera “The Black Rider.”

Gerard tells the LA Times he doesn’t want The Umbrella Academy movie to end up like Harry Potter.
The one thing I don’t want to have happen is I don’t want it to be ‘Harry Potter.’ And the studio doesn’t want that. The boy in this story is not a boy. He’s 60 years old. He is an assassin. There’s so much about him that is extremely violent. So that’s why I don’t want this to look like ‘Harry Potter.’ It’s not pretty and nice and safe.
