“Na Na Na” Lyric Video

September 28th, 2010 | | 5 Comments | Email My Chemical Freak!

For those of you who want to sing along to MCR’s new single “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)”, but aren’t too sure about the lyrics, an excellent video has been posted HERE on the official My Chemical Romance YouTube account that is basically a literal depiction of the words in the song.

What do you guys think of the video? Would you like to see more of these in the future? I know I sure do. :]

Also, check out the new picture uploaded to MCR’s official site (pictured above; you can also click on it to see the full size file). It’s an image of the newspaper Frank was reading in “Art Is the Weapon”. The only thing I can really make out from it is “©Photos provided by S/C/A/R/C/R[/O/W]“, which is the name of one of the upcoming songs from the new album. Most of the rest is unreadable because it’s in lorem ipsum (look it up).

MCR News Roundup

September 11th, 2010 | | 0 Comments | Email My Chemical Freak!

As I am sure most of you know, My Chemical Romance is gearing up to release their first album is four years. Here’s a roundup of the recent news:

August 26: The above picture, “Look alive, sunshine…”, was posted on Gerard Way’s Twitter account. It appears to be lyrics from the new album. Read on and you will see why.

September 3: In a press release, Electronic Arts announces that the video game The Sims 3: Late Night will feature an original, never-before heard MCR song called “Na Na Na”. The name of this song can be seen repeated over and over in Gerard’s picture from earlier. The game is slated for release on October 26.

September 4: The band’s official website is temporarily replaced with an interactive TV. No other features of the site were accessible.

September 7: The band’s official website is rebooted. The interactive TV is gone, but a post by Frank Iero explains that the new album is done and will be coming out soon. He also announced his final limited-edition photo print, which sold out within hours. The print features the familiar silhouette of a spider. The spider was promotional art from Gerard’s upcoming comic book, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The comic was announced at Comic-Con 2009 and was slated for (but it almost certainly will not be) release this year. It was to be co-written by Gerard and Shaun Simon (who was also the former keyboardist from Frank’s old band, Pency Prep) and illustrated by Becky Cloonan. The spider also recently appeared on the exclusive MCR guitar strap that comes with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock if pre-ordered at Amazon.com. The game comes out on September 28.

Since then there have been some grumblings on fan sites about Twitter accounts related the the album. These could be part of viral marketing campaign, but nothing has been officially confirmed. Also, HMV, a British entertainment retail chain, has listed the as-yet-unnamed album on their Web site for pre-order. The date listed is November 8, 2010; however there is no guarantee that this is the final release date.

More announcements about the upcoming album will almost certainly be on the way, so stay tuned to My Chemical Freak for all the latest MCR news!

New Stats: Bandit Lee Way :)

This comes from MSI’s myspace blog…

Mindless Self Indulgence bassist Lyn-Z and her husband, My Chemical Romance vocalist and comic book writer Gerard Way, welcomed a baby girl into the world yesterday afternoon.

Their daughter, Bandit Lee Way, was born in Los Angeles at 2:57 P.M. on May 27th and weighs 6 lbs., 5.6 oz. “Everyone is healthy and happy.” Says a rep for the couple.

Gerard said he is “very excited” about fatherhood, adding: “I don’t know that I ever thought about having a kid, but then I also didn’t expect to meet Lyn-Z. When I met her I knew she’d be the one person I could have a kid with.”

Lyn-Z and Gerard were married in September 2007 after MCR and MSI toured together on Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution. They announced the pregnancy in November. This is their first child.
