My Chemical Freak: My Chemical Romance All The Time

Mikey Way Mustang Bass Now Available!

“Squier introduces what is surely one of its most distinctive signature bass guitar models ever in the striking short-scale form of the Mikey Way Mustang Bass. Designed with the input of the nimble My Chemical Romance bassist, it takes the classic Mustang Bass and amps it through the roof with a dazzling large-flake Silver Sparkle finish with black racing stripes, a single seismic humbucking pickup with a black cover, and a black headstock with Way’s signature on the back.”

Judging by the watermark on the photo of  PoorlyDressed.com, these folks weren’t too impressed by Gerard’s fashion choice.  Nevertheless, haven’t seen this one yet.  Thanks, Marissa!

My Chemical Romance Appear On Yo Gabba Gabba

As a parent of a little kid I have seen this show a thousand times but NEVER with My Chemical Romance on it.  I have seen plenty of rock acts such as Good Charlotte and Jack Black belt out a tune or two on there.  On Dec. 18th MCR appear on Yo Gabba Gabba’s Christmas special, “A Very Awesome Christmas”,  singing the original song “Every Snowflake Is Different” on Nick Jr. at 8pm.  Don’t have to wait though.  Check out the video now!

Pedicone Releases Official Statement Regarding Dismissal Through Kerrang!

September 6th, 2011 | | 0 Comments | Email My Chemical Freak!

“I’d like to thank MCR’s members, crew, and supporters for giving me some of the best musical experiences of my life in the past several months. However brief our partnership, it was an honour and a dream come true to play with such a talented bunch of individuals. I wish MCR the best of luck in the future, and I’m looking forward to my next endeavour…”

Mike Pedicone No Longer Associated With MCR

September 3rd, 2011 | | 3 Comments | Email My Chemical Freak!

From Frank’s blog on the official website.

“The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington.”

I will say, being in Arizona (where Pedicone is from) and a huge part of the music scene, there have been more times than once I have heard from people in circles close to Pedicone that he had hit some very hard times financially recently, and that playing shows with MCR was helping that immensely, which would explain why he took advantage of the band. His response to the situation, via twitter “What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you.” followed by “It was an error in judgement based on a whole other situation that’s way deeper but this does not define me.” seems to hint towards this as well. It is purely hearsay and speculation, and I am in no way making excuses for his actions, but simply saying no one knows what real reasons he had and it was NOT okay, but try to take the road the band is and just move forward. “We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation. The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives.” -Frankie.
