My Chemical Freak: My Chemical Romance All The Time

MCR Article by “The Irish Times”

“FROM TOP TO toe, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance is a riot of colours – purple/red hair, white shirt, black jeans, blue socks, silver runners with a lime green trim. Gerard Way is tucked into a small room somewhere in the upper floors of Dublin’s O2 venue – the floors and rooms most people don’t get to see, but which, after the band’s quietly spectacular show, will be full of teenagers lucky enough to have been picked for the US band’s meet’n’greet.”

Artrocker Internview with Mikey and Gerard

“Whilst thousands of eager teenage fans coil round the interior of Glasgow SECC we are brought past the manic group that started the queue almost 48 hours previously, and into the empty Hall 4. Once we;ve passed through four different security points and up numerous hallways, we were seated in a small but homely room, sparsely lit and scented with several candles.”

MCR Newcastle Show Review

“JUDGING by the screams at their entrance, the North East fans had been waiting a while for the World Contamination Tour to arrive. The wait was over.

“MCR kicked off their set with Na Na Na, which was followed by Give ‘Em Hell Kid, a classic from early album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge which always goes down live. Full of energy and catchy lyrics, Newcastle officially went crazy to the key line ‘we are young and we don’t care’.”

“Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance tells Absolute Radio’s Ben Jones why he’d like to collaborate with david Bowie.

GW: I know, it’s hard, dude. David Bowie. He’s awesome.

BJ: Why David Bowie? I think I probably know why David Bowie.

GW: Right. I think because he’s a true artist, he’s completely always done what he wanted, he’s changed so much record to record, and I completely look up to him. I definitely think he’s a genius, I think nothing really ever seemed to get in the way of him making his art and that’s admirable.”

Glasgow Show Review

“Before every song of this show, a random slogan flashed up on the screens to either side of the stage. Most of their messages were obscure and disjointed: ‘would you destroy something perfect in order to make it beautiful?’, ‘be responsible, take yourmedicine’, and so on. The last one of the set got it spot on, though – ‘everything is perfect’.”
