“What happened to all the emos? Remember when they were everywhere? Well it seems they grew up, and last night plenty of former emos were out in full force at My Chemical Romance’s Melbourne Big Day Out sideshow.”

I have to say this is one of the most bad ass pics of Mikey I have ever laid eyes on, and I have looked at a lot of pics! This is from the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney show.

The February 2012 issue of Alternative Press has My Chemical Romance content. The first, on page 48, is a fold-out poster of Gerard on one side (Blink-182 on the other). This was a shot taken during the photo session for what became their cover for The Most Anticipated Albums of 2010 issue (January 2010, issue #258). On the last page of this issue, is a list of The 10 Essential Songs To Make Shoveling Snow Bearable. ”Party Poison” is featured. It reads: “By definition, sporting snow gear and wading through dirty gray slush is decidedly unglamorous. Leave it to My Chemical Romance to pen a song so full of perma-style, your puffy coat and boots will seem like couture fashion. Like David Bowie and the MC5, “Party Poison” is a sassy garage-glam stomp with brash riffs and an even brasher swagger. Just try not to strut through snowdrifts with serious ‘tude when this song shuffles on to your iPod.”

“BEING LUMPED IN WITH A “BUNCH OF SHITTY BANDS” WAS THE WORST PART OF BEING LABELLED EMO, RECKONS MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE GUITARIST RAY TORO. BUT MARK HEBBLEWHITE LEARNS THAT LONGEVITY IS THE BEST REVENGE ON THOSE EMO LUMPERS.“
