I’m getting that familiar itching feeling again, thanks to this video’s tiny taste of Gerard Way! Facts are somewhat nebulous to me – he wrote words and music for this? Okay, now he’s starting to scare me. I always knew he was brilliant, but this is beyond…ah..oiuewss..ah. And I mean that!
MCRLOVE:D April 18th, 2009 8:38 pm
Personally the song is great and Gerard looks totally amazing in the video
Elizabeth Barbara April 18th, 2009 9:34 pm
Ahem anyway, I saw on youtube, and Was well excited. I think I’m the only one that didn’t hear about the Final Fantasy thing, so I was verrrrrrrry surprised. The song is catchy, and I really like it. I seriously can’t wait to hear more.
Megan April 18th, 2009 10:02 pm
I thought is was pretty good. Kinda catchy. I don’t like it as much as other songs, but it’s not bad.
I also like the video. It’s not really something MCR would do, so I’m kinda glad to see Gerard breaking out of that element with this song. He looked really good in the video. And his hair looked even sexier when it’s wet. lol. I really liked his jacket and sunglasses, too. I’m gonna try and steal them.

Timmerz April 19th, 2009 9:58 pm
I don’t think it’s bad writing at all. It’s just simple. Which isn’t a bad thing at all. Hell, there’s a little song by the Ramones that’s known for just HEY HO. LET’S GO. Sometimes less is more.
And I don’t think the song is totally all about the entire song, but how it all culminates into the chorus with the “I’ll keep you safe and sound Oh Ohhhh” part because then it all comes together.
It’s definitely different, but it’s nice to see Gerard playing around with different ideas. Plus he didn’t write it for his band, he wrote it for another so he also needed to keep them in mind as well as the video game thing.
I don’t know. I liked it. Haha.
Becks April 19th, 2009 10:39 pm
I love Himuro’s voice it reminds of David Bowie…which reminds me of just how much I want a Frank Iero, Gerard Way & David Bowie collab. (for extra sweet add in Robert Smith)
I adore this song.
Lilas April 20th, 2009 2:18 am
The song is pretty good, full of energy and I love the “Ohohhh ohohhh” is the chorus. Moreover the clip is simple too but very nice and I have to admit that Gee looks fucking amazing walking and singing in the desert.
To sum it up, I love it!
Goldie April 20th, 2009 6:53 am

Klei. With all due respect, check your rock and roll history. The fact that the lead singer garners a majority of the fan and press attention is as old as Elvis Presley. The only band that comes to mind where that DIDN’T happen would possibly the Beatles, and even then it was a dead-heat between Paul and John many times.
School’s out…
Pete April 22nd, 2009 11:24 am
All fans think that good music has to be written for them. In fact, imho at least, good music is written to express artist’s (singer or song writer) feelings (or emotions if you prefer). This song is kind of an acceptable exception because it expresses the Claud Strife’s feelings, a fictional character from a world where the planet is a living entity. It is called cultural syncretism and it means to combine different forms of art in order to enhance one piece of art. This is not necessary Gerard’s style (neither is the Desolation Raw cover) but I appreciate it as much as I appreciate his “usual” work.
