Yes, I’m still baffled at how this wasn’t announced. I’m kind of thinking it wasn’t on purpose.
X = my James Dewees community.
For those of you who don’t know, James Dewees is the drummer for Leathermouth.
So. Join that community. haha.

Um, you know MSI and MCR have had shows together yearsssss ago, way before Gerard “got with” Lyn-Z. I’m pretty sure the entire band has gained some kind of relationship with the members – I don’t think it has anything to do with Gerard.
Sure, Gerard *may* attend one of them to show support for his BFFILE and wife… but, anyway.

I have to be honest, I have no interest in seeing MSI; I TRIED to like the band, thought I did when I got “Frankenstein Girls…” but I saw and read a few interviews and Jimmy comes across like…well…I won’t go there.
HOWEVER, that being said, I would have an itch SOOOO bad if I don’t get myself to that Sayreville gig!! I missed them the last time through…not happening a 2nd time!

I’m sorry…to clarify…I’m not missing LeATHERMOUTH a 2nd time! I may or may not stay for MSI…it’s rude to leave before the headline act, but w/e…

Leathermouth + MSI = wtf.
Once again, personal life should not get in the way of your profession. The way to choose an opening band is to predict what band goes with your sound so that your fans won’t be alienated and so your opening act can gain new fans. MSI and Leathermouth aren’t even close to being in the same genre. Way to be discreet.

I strongly dislike MSI. But i love Leathermouth. So.. i would go to just to see them.

@ Lydia: Chosing an opening act hardly ever depends on the quality/genre of the music anymore. Jeffree Star has rock bands as opening acts, MSI had techno when I saw them. MCR had MSI.
It’s all about who you know and what music you like.
Even though I’m pretty biased – liking both MSI and LM – I still think it’s great when bands have unexpected genres for their opening acts. It exposes their music to different types of fans and allows for more people to hear their music, which is what an opening act should do, I feel.

if i was still in NJ right now i’d totally go to the Sayreville gig. but alas, i’m the daughter of an expat whose job was transferred to Saudi Arabia, so that’ll never happen D:>

Marie is right. Not every opening band is going to be in the same genre as the headliner. Again, maybe it’s just me showing my age, but some readers and posters here would do themselves a favor and read their history. The most recent example: Drive By sounds SO much like My Chemical Romance, right? Right?!?!

forgive me if i’m wrong, but are you being sarcastic [Brett]? cuz seriously, Drive By sounds nothing like MCR. just an opinion

He’s being sarcastic… trying to say that opening bands don’t usually sound like the headliners.
