For many of its readers, The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite’s Eisner win for Best Limited Series this July at the awards ceremony at San Diego Comic Con was not much of a surprise. The story of seven children: Kraken, Séance, The Rumor, Vanya, Spaceboy, Number Five and The Horror (okay, six, as The Horror died at some point previous to this story), The Umbrella Academy is Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s post-modern opus – the love child of Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol and the earliest, craziest X-Men, raised by years of superheroes.

It has been brought to my attention that the below information might not be correct.  Why?  Because Leathermouth has decided to go with a different record label (epitaph) to release their first CD.  Apparently the below info has been on the site for some time and it was just now brought to my attention.

Several readers have emailed MCF to let them know this is not longer a release date.  Guess we have to wait some more.

Leathermouth LJ is reporting that SkeletonCrewOnline.com has in its upcoming merch section Leathermouth Vinyl.

I checked and it does say the following…

“Leaterhmouth 7″ Vinyl, with CD/EP on 10/31/2008″

Now I’m not completely sure what that means but It seems to mean you get the vinyl with the CD, but that is not confirmed yet.

No preorder is available as of now.

MCRmy Mexico has been very busy lately.  The Cineteca Nacional hosted “Rock In The Cinema” and The Black Parade Is Dead was shown. Below are the photos from that event.

Today The Cure’s ”Sleep When I’m Dead” remix by Gerard Way and Julien-K is available for digital purchase. BUT… The Cure says boycott ITUNES and DO NOT buy it there.

On a side note, I highly recommend the MP3 store over at amazon.com

NME is reporting that Robert Smith claims ITUNES ripped off their UK fans by charging too much for the EP, “Hypnogogic States”.
