New Umbrella Academy Coming in November

Dark Horse comics has announced that the second installment of The Umbrella Academy will be out sometime in November (no official name has been given yet).

Scott Allie, editor, says, “Series 2, which we’re only calling series 2 right now but we’ll probably tell you the real title in San Diego [Comic Con], will debut in November.”

Fear not TUA fans you won’t have to wait until November for something new.  There will be a MINI TUA comic coming exclusively to MySpace.  It will be about Kracken and Vanya being in a punk band.  I am very interested to see how that one plays out LOL.

For more info on this developing situation you can check out TheUmbrellaAcademy.com

Another little tidbit…

Much to the dismay of MCR and “EMO” haters everywhere, there will be no mass-suicide after the March to protest The Daily Mail.

If you for one second believed such a thing you should go somewhere and beat yourself repeatedly with a large stick.  (<— this is a joke please do not beat yourself with a stick).

I tell you what, some people in the world are nuts!

My Chemical Freak FYI

It has been brought to my attention several times recently by several readers that it is hard to contact me.

It’s sort of confusing on here to contact us.  If for any reason you need to contact me personally you may do so by emailing me at mychemicalfreak@yahoo.com

I read and answer all emails that come to that address.

Over to the right of this site is something called a “BLOG ROLL”.  This is simply a list of links I have posted for easy access.  One of the links is to my Myspace and to the Email I listed above.

All you need to do is click those links and it will take you where you want to go.

Another feature that could be of service to you is the “SEARCH” feature.

If you are wondering if we have posted pictures of a certain show type in the box “Photos” or “MSG Photos”  all photos tagged with that will come up.  You can scroll down through the posts that have photos in them.  This goes for anything.

Say you want to find the “controversial” topics dealing with MCR.  Type in controversial and all things “controversial” will pop up for you to peruse.

If at anytime you have anything you would like to tell us, show us, need us to post, etc.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Thanks again to each and every one of you for reading!

Thank You MCR: A new site

A new site has been launched that I feel worthy of a little exposure.

Here is the info…

ThankYouMCR (http://www.thankyoumcr.net)is devoted to celebrating the positive effect that My Chemical Romance has on their fans. To date, they’ve received two hundred submissions from MCR fans, detailing how they’ve been deterred from suicide attempts, moved to conquer addictions and self-destructive habits, ended abusive relationships, been comforted through grief after a loved one’s death, and just generally found strength and inspiration in the message sent by the band’s music and the example set by their lives. The site’s founder is trying to get the word out about the site, partially in response to the sensationalistic journalism surrounding the tragic death of Hannah Bond and the allegations of MCR being a “suicide cult” – to demonstrate how many lives they’ve SAVED, and hopefully show just how untrue those allegations really are.

Go to the site, send your story, become part of the positive movement!

My Chemical Romance Speaks About Suicide Girl

Credit: mychemicalromance.com

We have recently learned of the suicide and tragic loss of Hannah Bond. We’d like to send our condolences to her family during this time of mourning. Our hearts and thoughts are with them.

My Chemical Romance are and always have been vocally anti-violence and anti-suicide. As a band, we have always made it one of our missions through our actions to provide comfort, support, and solace to our fans. The message and theme of our album “The Black Parade” is hope and courage. Our lyrics are about finding the strength to keep living through pain and hard times. The last song on our album states: “I am not afraid to keep on living” – a sentiment that embodies the band’s position on hardships we all face as human beings. If you or anyone that you know have feelings of depression or suicide, we urge you to find your way and your voice to deal with these feelings positively.

My Chemical Romance Fan Defense Growing

NME.com speaks to protest organizer.

My Chemical Romance fans’ march against The Daily Mail next weekend (May 31) could attract up to a thousand protestors, says the organisers.

As previously reported, fans of the band are set to march in London to protest against press misrepresentation of their heroes, especially in The Daily Mail.

Smith, who only began to organise the march last Friday (May 16), told NME.COM: “At my last check there were 426 entries on the list, but I’m expecting to have at least 500 by tomorrow evening (May 24). [The police] are asking for numbers and I’m thinking maybe I should say a thousand.”

Explaining that the march is “100% for My Chemical Romance” rather than emo music in general, Smith said: “The [Daily Mail's] words ‘suicide cult’ really stand out for me, because it’s just so far from the truth. As a fanbase it’s such an insult ’cause we fight so hard and so many of us suffer from depression, and we fight everyday to ward it off.

“The way [many teenagers are] fighting it is with My Chemical Romance’s help and it’s just such an insult to tell us that the last thing we have to hold on to and the last thing that’s keeping us alive is killing us, because it’s not.”

Smith directly attacked the Daily Mail’s suggestion that the emo group promotes suicide and self-harm, saying: “My Chemical Romance is my whole life and I take it very seriously, but at the same time the message that we’re taking seriously isn’t about death and how you should die and killing yourself and all that, it’s about how you should love life and experience every moment that you can.”

The march, set to begin at Hyde Park’s West Pond in central London, takes place on the afternoon of May 31.

Protests are great Kids, but let’s remember to keep it civil and remember what and who’s name you are representing during this protest.  Don’t do anything they wouldn’t do!  Happy protesting!
