My Chemical Romance are slated to play Sloss Furnace on April 30, 2008 at 7pm. Many have asked why Sloss Furnace? Others have asked what is Sloss Furnace? We are going to try to answer that.
Sloss Furnace was an iron producing furnace in Birmingham, Alabama. It began in April of 1882 and produced iron until the 90′s. Sloss Furnace has now been turned into a hitstorical museum. They offer daily tours, host events, and host the annual Sloss Fright Furnace the month of October.
Sloss is said to be haunted. They were featured on Fox Channel’s “Scariest Places On Earth” in 2006. One can imagine this is the reason MCR chose to add this stop on their U.S. tour.
